Move over Danica!! Mme. Du Gast at the wheel of the awesome 03 DeDietrich
I can't help but think of Peter Ustinov's Grand Prix of Gibraltar when I see this shot. Can't you just see her closing in on the Duke of Hess Pless Hess (riding as a passenger, with his chauffeur at the wheel, and a masked lady at his side) as they approach the Gasworks Chicane (Défense de fumer!!)

If you don't read French, and don't know about this extraordinary woman you should take a moment and try a bit of Googling! In fact, you could translate the above link with their language tools, and get the gist of some of her story. I'll be writing about her one of these days. I first became aware of her (and much more about the bold early days of motorsport) in Charles Jarrot's amazing book, "10 Years of Motors and Motor Racing, 1896 -1906".
