Venue Avalon Ballroom Location San Francisco, CA Date 10/13/68 - Sunday posters tickets, passes & laminates One Dark Star [#13:31] > Saint Stephen [4:53] > The Eleven [13:#12] > Death Don't Have No Mercy [9:07] ; [0:08] Two Cryptical Envelopment [1:51] > Drums [0:13] > The Other One [7:39] > Cryptical Envelopment [8:38] > New Potato Caboose [3:#00] > Drums [4:40] > Jam [2:10] > Feedback [5:19] ; [0:22] Comments Pigpen was absent. This list is for the real 10/13/68 (see comments for 10/12/68). Dark Star: Beginning is missing; no banter before Dark Star; verse 1 at 2:15; Dark Star theme at 6:56; Climax at 8:44; Birth of a Star at 10:07; verse 2 at 12:06. After "one man gathers what another man spills" in Saint Stephen, Bobby says "ha ha ha; yeah, that's right". There is a lot of microphone feedback during the William tell verses. The Eleven: neat splice at 12:44. New Potato: Immediately following "all a seer can own" is a splice which cuts back to the ending chord & beginning of drums. Someone shouts "Alligator!". Drums: "Bol" vocals during drums (as in Indian classical). Feedback: As final note fades, someone says "Good Night", then applause, then the emcee says "Ladies & gentlemen, the Grateful Dead!" 8/8/2005 | ||
