01/28/05 New Van, JdM hustled it in Canann, despite his Begian License. He drove to Brooklyn, and we have 8 easy karts, and 3 Birell Shifters!!!! loaded on the Truck. 1200 miles to Naples, non stop, or grab a motel after the first 10 hours or so? Packing, a familiar ritual, has occupied my evening. Helment, kneck guard, Driving Suit, Boots, Balaklava, gloves. Packed shorts and Multiple t-shirts (is is gonna be 78-80, low 60's at night). That sounds real fine, tomorrow is predicted to be coldest of year here with -15 daybreak temp. This will be a Frugal trip, we will be eating from grocery stores. Must make money above the cost of the trip, and my cut. And that means no Daytona. Spencer complained bitterly that he had to fork over $150 cash to Grand Am to have his girlfiend's company at test days. Adding insult to injury, they stuck him $250 for a lost hard card. He grumbled, and I will not be contributing the France Family Fund, even for ol' Spencer. | ||
